Privacy notice
This site collects as little as possible. There are no advertising trackers and no third-party tracking cookies. ● Last updated June 2026.
What I collect
The only personal information this site collects is what you type into the contact form: your name, your email address, and your message. Nothing is collected if you simply browse.
Why, and the legal basis
That information is used for one purpose only – to read your message and reply to you. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in responding to people who get in touch. It is never sold, and never used for marketing.
Who it’s shared with
Your message is delivered to my inbox through a third-party email delivery provider acting on my behalf, and the site itself runs on a third-party hosting provider. Both only process your data to provide their service. Beyond that, your information is not shared with anyone.
Spam protection
The contact form uses an anti-abuse check to block automated spam. To do this it may briefly process technical signals such as your IP address. It does not track you across sites or build a profile of you.
Analytics
This site uses privacy-focused, cookieless analytics: visits are counted in aggregate, with no cookies, no cross-site tracking, and nothing that identifies you personally.
Cookies
The public site sets no tracking or advertising cookies, which is why you won’t see a cookie banner.
How long it’s kept
Messages are kept for as long as they remain relevant to my work as a journalist.
Your rights
If you’re in the UK or EU, you have the right to ask what personal data of yours I hold, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. To make any such request, just get in touch through the contact page. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If this notice changes, the “last updated” date above will change with it.
